The history of what today constitutes one of the most important complex winemakers of Jerez goes back to March 8, 1760, date in which the actual letter that Carlos III of Spain named Marqués del Real Tesoro to the Hon. Mr. Don Joaquín Manuel of Villena Guadalfajara Rodriguez de Manzano and grandson, lieutenant general of the Royal Spanish Navy is dated.
With large reserves of sherry stored two centuries before by the Hon. Mr. Conde de Villacreces, a large wine cellar, was initiated in permanent expansion since then, with the finest of sherry wines originating from the ' Solera’ that prestige today throughout the world the name of MARQUES of the Royal Treasury.
Sherry is characterized by two types of parenting, biological aging and oxidative aging. Biological aging is one in which the oxidation is prevented by the spontaneous appearance, on the wine surface, of a veil of flower that isolates it from the air, consuming its alcohol and bringing it nutrients.
The origins of the Jose Estevez S.A wine cellars (Bodegas) . are from the Jose Lena Rendon and Co. enterprise, which was established in 1809 for ageing Sherry and Brandy.
The history of what is now one of the most important winemakers complex dates back to Jerez 8 March 1760, date the royal letter is dated by Charles III of Spain naming Don Joaquín Manuel de Villena Guadalfajara Rodríguez de Manzano y Nieto 'Marqués del Real Tesoro', Lieutenant General of the Spanish Royal Navy.
